Another Four Arrests Executed in Relation to Louvre Jewelry Robbery

Another four suspects were taken into custody within the framework of the continuing probe into the previous theft of priceless jewelry at the Louvre Museum, as stated by the Parisian legal officials.

Specifics of the Most Recent Arrests

Two male suspects, aged 38 and 39, and two women, aged 31 and 40, were taken into custody this Tuesday. All are from the Île-de-France region.

Among them is believed to be the remaining individual of a group of four that allegedly carried out the broad-daylight robbery, according to media sources in France. The remaining trio alleged robbers have already been arrested and indicted, officials say.

Law enforcement has been granted as much as 96 hours to question them. Not a single clue has to date been discovered of the stolen jewels - worth an estimated 88 million euros (76 million pounds; 102 million dollars) - which were stolen on October 19th.

Earlier Accusations and Disavowals

A group of four have previously faced charges in relation to the robbery - three male and one female suspects, who similarly reside within the greater Paris.

A 38-year-old woman was charged earlier this month with complicity in organised theft and conspiracy to commit crimes aimed at perpetrating an offense.

In a distinct case, a 37-year-old male, was accused of stealing and conspiratorial activities.

Both of these individuals, who have not been named publicly, have denied any involvement.

The Method of the Robbery Was Carried Out

The heist happened when the group of four men employed a hijacked vehicle with a mounted lift to gain access to the Galerie d'Apollon via a balcony near the Seine River.

The perpetrators employed a cutting disc to force open display cases containing the jewelry.

The robbers remained within for a mere four minutes and made their escape on two motor scooters waiting outside at 9:38 AM, before transferring to automobiles.

One of the stolen items - a royal crown - was dropped during the escape but eight more objects of jewelry - such as a necklace with emeralds and diamonds that Emperor Napoleon presented to his second wife, the Empress Marie-Louise - were taken.

Protective Shortcomings and Fallout

Authorities have indicated that the robbery was executed by minor lawbreakers rather than experienced crime syndicates.

In the immediate aftermath of the heist, it was disclosed by the museum's director that the sole surveillance camera watching the Apollo Gallery was directed away from the balcony the thieves climbed over to commit the burglary.

The museum's president has since admitted that the establishment had not fulfilled in its duties, but denied that security had been overlooked - saying that from the beginning of her tenure in two thousand twenty-one she had been consistently alerting of the requirement for additional resources.

Strengthened Security Measures

Since the incident, protective protocols have been tightened around France's cultural institutions.

The museum has moved numerous highly prized jewelry items to the French central bank in the aftermath of the robbery.
